About the creator
Built by a TEFL professional, for TEFL professionals

Lesson Elf was created by an English language teacher with over a decade of one-to-one online teaching experience and more than five years training other teachers. Every lesson stage, every question type, every game mechanic — all of it is grounded in real classroom practice and proven pedagogy.

Every detail in Lesson Elf — meaning before form, CCQs over translation, delayed correction — isn't a gimmick. It's the methodology used in thousands of real lessons with real students at every level from A1 to C2.

Common questions
Everything you need to know before signing up.
Do I need a credit card to start? ▼
No. You can create one complete lesson for free with no card required. You only need to add payment details when you decide to upgrade.
What counts as a "lesson generation"? ▼
Each time you fill in the form and click Generate, that uses one lesson generation. The lesson is then yours to use as many times as you like with as many students as you need — no limit on replays or screen-sharing.
Can I cancel any time? ▼
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You keep access until the end of your current billing period, and you won't be charged again after that.
Who owns the lessons I generate? ▼
You have a full personal license to use any lesson you generate for your own teaching — share your screen, use it in every lesson, as many times as you like. Lesson Elf retains ownership of generated content, which allows us to use anonymized material to improve the platform and develop additional resources. Full details are in our Terms and Conditions.
Does the annual plan save money? ▼
Yes — the annual Pro plan is $99/year versus $180 if you paid monthly, saving you $81 (45% off). Pro + Worksheets annual is $159 versus $240 monthly — a saving of $81, or 34% off.
Is Lesson Elf suitable for teaching children? ▼
Yes. The generator adapts the lesson to the age group you select — from Very Young Learners (5–7) through to Adults. Younger learner themes include a friendlier visual style, simpler language, and the Lesson Elf character to keep the lesson engaging.
How do I upgrade after signing up? ▼
Once you've created a free account you'll be brought to this pricing page where you can choose a plan and upgrade instantly via secure checkout. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time from your account settings.
How does the Teams plan work? ▼
The school admin buys the Teams plan and gets an admin dashboard. From there you generate invite links — just copy and send to each teacher. Each teacher clicks the link, signs in (or creates a free account), and their account is instantly upgraded to Pro + Worksheets. No IT setup, no passwords to share. You can remove a teacher at any time from the dashboard.
I'm a Lesson Elf tutor — do I get anything extra? ▼
Yes. Approved, active Lesson Elf tutors get the AI Lesson Builder and the full curriculum library free — no Pro subscription needed. And if you do want a paid plan (for example for downloadable worksheets), tutors get 30% off, applied automatically at checkout.
